EPDM Butterfly Valve Manufacturer for Wholesale & Industrial Supply

2026-09-28

When you are sourcing EPDM butterfly valves for water treatment, HVAC, fire protection, irrigation or industrial piping, the valve price is only one part of the decision. For distributors, contractors and project buyers, consistent quality, correct seat material, reliable delivery and complete technical documentation are equally important.

As an experienced EPDM butterfly valve manufacturer, we supply wafer, lug and grooved butterfly valves for different pipeline configurations. Manual lever, gear operated, pneumatic and electric actuation can also be provided according to project requirements.

EPDM Butterfly Valve for Water and Industrial Applications

EPDM is widely used as a butterfly valve seat material for water-based applications. It offers good resistance to water, hot water and a range of diluted chemicals. However, the correct EPDM compound and operating temperature depend on the actual service conditions.

Before ordering, buyers should confirm:

  • Valve size: DN50–DN1200 or required range
  • Pressure rating: PN10, PN16 or other specification
  • Body material: ductile iron, cast iron, stainless steel
  • Disc material: ductile iron, stainless steel, aluminium bronze, etc.
  • Seat material: EPDM or other elastomer
  • Connection: wafer, lug, flanged or grooved
  • Operating method: lever, gearbox, pneumatic or electric
  • Working medium and temperature
  • Required testing and certification

For potable-water projects, do not assume that every EPDM seat is automatically approved for drinking-water service. WRAS, NSF or other approvals should be confirmed for the specific valve model and configuration required in your market.

Wafer, Lug and Grooved Butterfly Valves

A Wafer Butterfly Valve is a compact and economical option for installation between two pipe flanges. It is commonly used in water supply, HVAC, pump stations and general industrial piping.

A lug type butterfly valve uses threaded lugs around the body and can be useful where each side of the valve needs to be independently bolted. Lug designs are also frequently considered for maintenance and dead-end applications, subject to the manufacturer's pressure and end-of-line specifications.

For mechanical piping systems, a grooved butterfly valve connects directly to grooved pipe couplings. This design is widely used in building services, fire protection and selected industrial applications.

For distributors and stockists, having these three connection types available from one butterfly valve factory can simplify product selection and spare-parts management.

Gear Operated Butterfly Valve

For larger valve sizes, a worm gear operator provides mechanical advantage and makes manual operation easier.

A gear operated butterfly valve is commonly used on larger water pipelines, pump discharge lines, HVAC systems and industrial piping. Buyers should check the gearbox torque, mechanical stops, position indicator and mounting dimensions.

If future automation is possible, an ISO 5211 mounting platform can make it easier to install an electric or pneumatic actuator later.

EPDM or PTFE Seat?

EPDM is not suitable for every medium.

If the pipeline contains oils, hydrocarbons, certain solvents or aggressive chemicals, another seat material may be required. For higher chemical resistance, a PTFE butterfly valve may be considered depending on the application.

The correct seat should be selected according to the actual medium, pressure and temperature rather than simply choosing the lowest-cost valve.

A qualified butterfly valve supplier should be able to recommend an appropriate seat material and provide the relevant technical data before production.

Testing and Quality Control

For wholesale and project orders, product consistency is especially important.

Before shipment, buyers should confirm the applicable shell and seat leakage testing requirements. Depending on the project and market, standards such as EN 12266-1, ISO 5208 or API 598 may apply.

For larger orders, buyers can also request:

  • Material certificates
  • Hydrostatic test reports
  • Seat leakage test records
  • Dimensional inspection reports
  • Coating thickness records
  • Product drawings
  • Packing specifications
  • Certificates of conformity

A clear specification before production helps avoid problems with installation, customs clearance and project approval.

Why Source Directly From an EPDM Butterfly Valve Manufacturer?

Buying directly from a manufacturer can provide better control over specifications, packaging, lead times and repeat orders.

For wholesalers and distributors, the most useful supplier is not necessarily the one offering the lowest first-order price. It is the factory that can maintain the same valve dimensions, materials, seat specifications and testing requirements when the next container is ordered.

We can support OEM and wholesale EPDM butterfly valve orders with different body materials, disc materials, seat options, connection types and operating methods.
