Grooved Butterfly Valve for Industrial Piping
Grooved butterfly valves are widely used where quick installation and easy maintenance are required. Unlike flanged valves, the grooved connection uses mechanical couplings to connect the valve to the pipe. There is no need for welding or threading, which can save installation time, especially during replacement and maintenance work.
Our grooved butterfly valves are available for water, HVAC, fire protection, chemical and general industrial applications. Different seat and lining materials can be selected according to the working medium and operating temperature.
PTFE Lined Pinless Butterfly Valve
For corrosive media, we offer PTFE Lined butterfly valves with a pinless disc construction. In a conventional butterfly valve, the disc is normally connected to the stem with a pin. With a pinless design, the connection is arranged so that the metal pin is not directly exposed to the process medium.
This construction is useful when the valve is used with chemicals that may attack metal parts. PTFE lining provides good resistance to many acids, alkalis, solvents and chlorine-containing media. It is also commonly used for deionized water and other applications where contamination of the medium needs to be controlled.
The actual lining material should always be selected according to the chemical concentration, temperature and pressure of the application.
Halar Lined Butterfly Valve
Halar, also known as ECTFE, is another lining option for corrosive service. Compared with PTFE, Halar provides a different combination of chemical resistance, mechanical strength and permeation resistance.
A Halar Lined Pinless Butterfly Valve can be considered for applications involving strong acids, oxidizing chemicals and other aggressive fluids. Our engineering team can recommend the suitable lining after checking the medium and operating conditions.

Different Valve Connections
Not every pipeline uses the same connection standard. For this reason, our butterfly valve range includes wafer, lug, flanged and grooved designs.
Wafer butterfly valves are compact and are installed between two pipe flanges. They are often used in water systems, HVAC and general industrial piping where installation space is limited.
Lug butterfly valves have threaded lugs around the valve body. The valve can be removed from one side of the pipeline without removing the complete pipe section. A pinless lug type butterfly valve is also available for corrosive applications.
Flanged butterfly valves use bolted flange connections and are commonly selected for larger pipelines. Double flanged designs are available for applications requiring a flange on both sides of the valve.
For grooved piping, we supply ductile iron grooved butterfly valves as well as rubber seated versions. Ductile iron bodies provide good strength and are suitable for many water and industrial services. ASTM A536 ductile iron material can be supplied where specified by the project.
Rubber Seated Grooved Butterfly Valve
Not all applications require a plastic lining. For water and utility services, rubber seated butterfly valves are often a more practical choice.
EPDM seats are commonly used for water, cooling water and fire protection systems. NBR can be selected for applications where better resistance to oil-containing media is required.
The valve body can be supplied in cast iron or ductile iron depending on the pressure rating, pipe size and project requirements.

Manual and Electric Actuation
Small valves can be operated with a handle, while larger sizes are normally fitted with a worm gear operator. The operator can include a position indicator so that the valve opening can be checked easily from outside.
For automatic control, an electric actuator can be mounted directly on the valve. An electric EPDM lined butterfly valve can be used for on/off control or, with the correct actuator and control system, for modulating service.

Pneumatic actuators are also available. Limit switches, solenoid valves, positioners and other accessories can be supplied according to the control requirements of the project.
Valve Sizes and Applications
Small size PTFE lined butterfly valves are suitable for dosing systems, sampling lines, pilot plants and other small process pipelines. Larger grooved and flanged butterfly valves are used in water treatment plants, cooling systems, industrial utilities and large piping networks.
Valve selection should be based on more than the pipe size. The working pressure, temperature, medium, concentration, flow rate, pipe connection and required sealing performance should all be considered before the valve is selected.
For chemical applications, the seat and lining material are particularly important. Using the wrong material can shorten valve service life even when the valve body and actuator are correctly sized.
Grooved Butterfly Valve Manufacturer
We manufacture wafer, lug, flanged and grooved butterfly valves for water, chemical and industrial applications. PTFE, Halar, EPDM and NBR options are available, together with manual, electric and pneumatic actuation.
If you are looking for a grooved butterfly valve, PTFE lined butterfly valve, pinless butterfly valve or ductile iron grooved butterfly valve, send us the valve size, pressure rating, medium, temperature and pipe connection. We can check the application and recommend a suitable valve configuration for your project.
